Red Hat has decided to terminate support for all versions of "Red Hat Linux" by April, focusing on the "Enterprise" versions as their cash cow. I have four Red Hat 7.3 servers at work, and we gladly pay the $60 per year per server for guaranteed access to security updates and software patches. Now, this service is ending (December 31, 2003 for my version). I have to either buy their "Enterprise" version of Linux (cheapest option is $349 per year), or switch. Well, we're switching. We're not going to shell out $1400 per year just to gain support for basically the same thing. I'm currently researching different distros, and testing different versions. Anybody out there have anything good or bad to say about the other flavors of Linux?

More info here and here.
